The world-renowned horror writers Nancy Kilpatrick, Erinn L. Kemper and Weston Ochse took part in the special „Dark Literature Panel“ on Halloween. It was a conversation about the urge to write and how they have started their endeavour in horror writing.
We have started the panel with a discussion about the popularity of the horror genre in Eastern Europe. Our panelists also talked about the styles in the horror writing, monster creation, publishing on international level, film adaptation, etc.
Some mythologies are very relevant right now (such as Romanian, Scandinavian, Chinese, etc.) and we discussed when the Bulgarian and Slavic mythologies will thrive in the mainstream pop culture.
A lot of time was also dedicated to a discussion about hiring and working with agents. We also calculated the monetary value of a short story.
The Q&A with the audience took place throughout the chat.
